Where were you when the lights went out Saturday morning across the Platte Valley from Saratoga to Encampment?

Maybe you were making breakfast, getting ready for the weekend or catching up on email. Shortly after 8:30 in the morning, out went the electricity.

Carbon Power and Light, which serves residents from Saratoga to Encampment with electricity, posted on its Facebook page: “The power outage affecting the Platte Valley is due to a power supplier outage.”

According to other posts by CP&L, power crews patrolled the line looking for potential trouble spots.

The power remained off until around 12:20 in the afternoon. The outage lasted nearly three-and-three quarter hours.

Both Saratoga radio stations, KTGA and KBDY, were off the air because of the outage.
