The Wyoming Cowboys football team has added a soul searching to their physical reps this week as they get ready to play North Texas on Saturday.

After three losses to start the season, the Pokes are searching for their first win. The stage is Denton, Texas where the temperature will be in the low 90s.

On Monday, Cowboy Head Coach Jay Sawvel broke down the scouting report on North Texas this way.

The Cowboys have not played all that well this season. Despite computer projections showing them winning their first three games, the Cowboys are still in search of their first “W.”

Wyoming is a nine-point underdog headed into the matchup.

Sawvel said North Texas has a collection of skilled players who will challenge the Cowboys defensively. The Wyoming defense will need to up its game.

Evan Svoboda is the starting quarterback for Wyoming. He may be running out of time, though. Another poor performance this Saturday by Svoboda, may force Sawvel to make a change at the quarterback position.

Svoboda is 30-of-72 passing for 308 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.

The head coach talked about the underperforming Wyoming offense.

Can Coach Sawvel convert team’s demeanor in the sport facilities in Laramie into better execution on the field and a win Saturday in Texas? That’s the big question as the Cowboys head out on the road for the second time this season.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday in a game broadcast on ESPN+ and right here on Bigfoot 99 with the pregame show at 3:30.
