A Nebraska church youth group cleaned Saratoga’s Hobo Hot Springs last month.

During the October 1st Saratoga town council meeting, Mayor Chuck Davis announced that a youth group from the Evangelical Free Church of Alliance, Nebraska volunteered to clean the locker rooms at the hot pools. Mayor Davis said a member of the church has ties to Ryan Park.

Free Church of Alliance’s parent leader Cris Carnine told Bigfoot99 that she was looking for public service projects for the church youth group. Carnine explained that while visiting Ryan Park, she enjoys using the hot pools in Saratoga. However, during her latest visit, Carnine said the facilities were unclean.

Carnine said cleaning the locker rooms at the hot pools seemed like the perfect public service project for the church youth group.

After receiving approval from Mayor Davis and the group members, Carnine said they thoroughly cleaned the facility.

Fourteen kids and three youth group leaders worked for over an hour to clean the locker rooms at the hot springs. While the older kids scrubbed, younger members handed out Christian literature. Carnine said she hopes the pamphlets and the youth group’s works bring people to Christ.

Carnine said the youth group usually performs public service projects for the community in Alliance, Nebraska. Volunteering to clean the hot pools was a spur of the moment decision. As someone who personally enjoys the hot springs, Carnine said she hopes the group’s efforts paid off.

If the Evangelical Free Church of Alliance, Nebraska returns to Carbon County next year, Carnine said the youth group will likely clean the locker rooms at the Hobo Hot Springs again.
