Mountain West Football this weekend:

#21 Washington State upended Utah State 49-28. Cougars quarterback John Mateer threw four touchdown passes and ran in another.

Air Force won at home, defeating Fresno State 36-26 for the Falcons first conference win of the season.

UNLV fell to Hawaii on the islands 29-27.

Boise State improved to 5-0 in conference play with a 28-21 home win over Nevada.

San Jose State defeated Oregon State 24-13.

New Mexico, coming off the 49-45 loss to Wyoming, bounced back and defeated Mountain West defector San Diego State 21-16 on the west coast Friday night.

The stage is now set for this Friday night. Another Mountain West defector—Colorado State will host Wyoming in the 2024 edition of the Border War. The Rams have won four games in a row and five of their last six.

The Cowboys are coming off a bye week after defeating New Mexico 49-45 with Kaden Anderson at quarterback.
