A wanted fugitive led deputies from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office on a chase near Saratoga on Sunday.
Sheriff Alex Bakken issued a social media post on Monday evening detailing the incident. Sheriff Bakken wrote that on the afternoon of November 10th, a wanted suspect led deputies on a vehicle and foot pursuit through southern Carbon County.
To elude capture, the unidentified suspect fled along several county and Forest Service roads outside Saratoga. Deputies were eventually able to safely take the subject into custody. No one was injured in the incident.
Sheriff Bakken wrote that the suspect received a “seven-foot-long” citation before being apprehended. The suspect’s alleged crimes include: felon in possession of a firearm, felony possession of methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding, interference with a peace officer, and numerous other offenses.
In a written statement, the sheriff stated that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty and that the identity of the accused will remain undisclosed until he or she is seen in court.
Sheriff Bakken thanked his deputies, dispatchers, and partners at the Saratoga Police Department for apprehending the suspect.
