The Wyoming Cowboys football team is rebuilding after the disastrous 3-9 season.

Head Coach Jay Sawvel announced the signing of five transfers in recent days.

The latest is former Wisconsin safety Justin Taylor. The commitment was announced on Wednesday.

Taylor, a 6-foot, 200-pound safety out of Nazareth High School in Illinois, registered one tackle in two seasons with the Badgers. Taylor will be a sophomore in the 2025 season with three years of eligibility remaining.

Taylor’s commitment follows on the heels of the Cowboys landing Portland State transfer, safety Jaden DaCosta, on Monday. DaCosta will have three seasons to play two. Taylor and DaCosta join Snow College transfer, cornerback B.J. Inmon, as experienced collegiate defenders in Wyoming’s 2025 recruiting class.

When Taylor signs, he will give Wyoming six total defensive back recruits in the ‘25 class.

The Cowboys also signed safeties Kaiden Kimble-Turner and Elvin Ampofo along with cornerback Tyson Deen all from the prep ranks.

The transfer-portal window closes a week from Saturday, on Dec. 28.
