Be prepared for road construction on Interstate 80 at Fort Steele this week.

WYDOT, in conjunction with Modern Electric, was set to temporarily close Ft. Steele rest area last night, weather permitting.

Crews are scheduled to replace three high-mast towers in the rest area parking lots. Current towers reach 120 ft. and have begun to show some wear. The new towers will have a new, smaller design and will reach 80 ft.

This closure is expected to last until Friday, August 29.

All WYDOT project scheduling is subject to change, including due to adverse weather or material availability.
