Wyoming heads to the University of Colorado on Saturday to take on the Buffalo who come into the game with a 1-and-2 record.

The Buffalo opened the season at home in Boulder with a 27-20 loss against Georgia Tech at Folsom Field. In week 2, CU beat Delaware 31-7 at home. On the road last week at Houston, the Cougars won 36-20.

The big question for CU this week is who will play at starting quarterback. Three signal callers could get the call. None of them has stood out.

Ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Wyoming, CU head coach Deion Sanders said he had made a decision on which of the group will suit up as the starter but he’s keeping it to himself.

Maybe Ryan Staub is the choice. Staub posted two touchdowns in his relief role against Delaware. Staub didn’t look that great against Houston last week, though, when he threw two interceptions.

Then there’s Kaidon Salter, the highly touted transfer who started the season as the #1 signal caller. Julian Lewis, a freshman, could also get the nod this week.

The only thing the head coach would say is that he’s looking for leadership and consistency.

At this week’s news conference in Boulder, cornerback DJ McKinney was the first Buff to face reporters. McKinney said it comes down to playing hard from the start. McKinny said the plan against Wyoming will be simple.

McKinney said the message from Coach Sanders to his players, this week, was to execute to the best of their ability. The cornerback also talked about what they’ve seen on the tape looking at Wyoming.

Head coach Sanders said his team came to practice ready to go and he’s looking forward to a better performance this week.

The CU head coach also talked about the Cowboys wanting to come into Boulder this week with the proverbial chip on their shoulder and looking to take down the Buffs.  Here’s what jumps out at him on the tape.

The Cowboys will take on CU Saturday night.  Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. that will air on ESPN. Bigfoot 99 will hit the air at the offbeat time of 6:45 in the evening with the radio broadcast live from Folsom Field.
