Interstate 80 in Carbon County was the scene of another deadly crash on Thursday.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported that at least one person was killed in the multi-vehicle wreck that occurred near Arlington shortly before 12 noon yesterday. The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed between Laramie and Rawlins for most of the afternoon.
In addition to the one reported fatality at the scene, another person was life flighted.
A photograph of the crash scene provided by the Patrol shows one truck and its attached trailer on its side. A short distance away another trailer was off the road looking twisted and crushed. Road conditions were clear. Conditions were dry and mostly sunny. The crash appears to have occurred on a long, straight stretch of highway.
Debris from the crash stretched across both eastbound lanes.
Smoke poured from the cab of one of the two trucks involved in the incident.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
