Today’s Headlines:
- After attempts to bring a Title 10 federally funded family planning program to Carbon County failed, Carbon County Public Health has created its own reproductive health program and is now accepting new patients.
- In Saratoga, Town Council is renewing efforts to develop the Tyler Pickett Park near Veterans Island in memory of the fallen soldier.
- A newly formed volunteer committee is leading a community-wide cleanup in Rawlins. Area residents and businesses are encouraged to participate. City and county officials have been challenged to take part in the efforts.
- Tuition at the University of Wyoming will increase slightly this fall. The UW Board of Trustees voted Thursday to implement a four percent increase. State residents will see tuition increase 134-dollars per credit hour while the cost for non-residents will rise from 516-dollars to 537-dollars.
- In 2009, several communities across Carbon County chose to fund infrastructure projects through a one-penny Specific Purpose Tax. Now they are looking to save money by paying off the bonds ahead of schedule.
