Local prevention management program receives new funding
Carbon County has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wyoming for local prevention management services. Funding is provided under new block grants from the Wyoming Department of Health for programs aimed at preventing suicide and abuse of alcohol and drugs. The grants are going directly to counties in the state as part of a new model designed to deploy the programs more effectively at the local level. Buxton contract gets nixed
The Rawlins City Council Tuesday night voted to cancel the contract with Buxton. The decision was not unanimous. Nor was it reached easily. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare has followed the partnership between city and the Texas-based company for the last year and brings the story full circle.
New CCSD2 survey shows positive feedback
After conducting a survey earlier this year of how parents, staff and students feel about life and education at Carbon County School District Two schools, Superintendent Jim Copeland has released the results. The survey was designed to analyze what the district does well and what needs to be improved. Overall, students, parents and staff appear to have positive reactions toward the district.
