Bail set for reckless shooters

Two Platte Valley men charged with shooting up a residential area and wounding a nearby neighbor when they fired rifles at a backyard target made their first court appearance yesterday. John Stilly and Scott Drumm appeared in Carbon County Circuit Court for a bond hearing. The men are being held on charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and aggravated assault and battery. Circuit Court Judge Susan Stipe, citing the seriousness of the charges, set a bond for each defendant at $100,000 cash only. If unable to make bond, they’ll remain in county jail. The pair will appear in Carbon County District Court at a later date to enter please to the charges.

 

Broadband coming to Saraotga

Union Wireless has selected Saratoga to the first Wyoming town where the company will roll out its new high-speed broadband service across an entire community. Work on the initiative is anticipated to begin within a couple months. Emma Diercks has the story.

County fair hosts kids drag race event

It’s fair time and a new event for children is being added to this year’s demolition derby at the Carbon County Fairgrounds in Rawlins. Children between the ages of three and ten years old can compete in the first annual Power Wheels Drag Races. Cali O’Hare has more.
