Republic of Texas Day celebrated in Rawlins
Yesterday, August 15th, was celebrated as Republic of Texas Day in Carbon County. A crowd gathered at the museum in Rawlins to bear witness to the unveiling of a historical marker, identifying what was once the Northern Boundary of the Republic of Texas. County school faculty and law enforcement discuss school safety
In continuing efforts to increase school safety across the county, the faculty at HEM High School and the northern county elementary schools met with law enforcement from Hanna and Rawlins to talk about how staff can be prepared for emergencies. Emma Diercks has the story.

Rawlins students will head back to school on August 20th, and for some families that can mean struggling to purchase the costly but necessary back-to-school supplies on their children’s lists. The average cost of purchasing school supplies for one child is more than $500. But one Rawlins resident is hoping to ease that financial burden. Cali O’Hare reports.
