Rawlins building a total loss after fire
In Rawlins, yesterday’s early morning blaze in the industrial park on the east side of town resulted in the total loss of a large building and its contents. The Wyoming State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare has details.
Ekola Flats wind energy project gains approval
Invenergy, a wind energy development company has won state approval to build a wind farm northwest of Medicine Bow. Company officials appeared before the Wyoming Department of Quality’s Industrial Siting Council to present testimony about the Ekola Flats project. Emma Diercks has more.
WHP releases more details on fatal highway crash
The Wyoming Highway Patrol yesterday issued its initial findings on Tuesday’s double fatal crash on the state highway south of Saratoga. A local man, Donald Price, and an Alabama man died in the head-on collision just north of the Wyoming 130 and 230 junction. For the first time since the crash, the name of the out-of-state visitor was identified. 71-year-old Fairhope, Alabama resident Christopher Leigh died at the scene.
The report also said 47-year-old Price was flown from the scene and died at the hospital. So far this year, 73 people have died on Wyoming highways compared to 103 last year at this time.
