County officials nix Encampment cell tower

Only one of three conditional use permits for cell phone towers received a recommendation for approval from the Carbon County Planning and Zoning Commission Monday. Two applications were not recommended due to opposition by area residents. Emma Diercks has the story.

Community remembers 9/11 with ceremony in Rawlins

Today is 9/11 and area residents are invited to attend a special remembrance ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks of September 11th, 2001. Each year on the anniversary, Carbon County residents, first responders and law enforcement officers gather at the flag pole outside of the Carbon Building in Rawlins to pay tribute. Landfill budget approved

The Upper Platte Valley Solid Waste Disposal District approved its fiscal year budget with the goal of having enough cash on hand to meet a 25 percent grant match to move forward with the Saratoga Landfill closure. Emma Diercks has the details.

 

 

State joins CWD research project

With the 2018 hunting season here, Wyoming has joined several other states on a research project to learn more about chronic wasting disease in mule deer herds here in southern Wyoming. Cali O’Hare has more.
