City of Rawlins fires back at Dirty Boyz in legal battle

The fight bell has sounded in the latest round in the ongoing litigation between Dirty Boyz Sanitation and the City of Rawlins. The attorney for the city has filed court papers saying that residents tried to outwit the former mayor and council by remaining silent during a public meeting in January, and as a result, the lawsuit filed by Rose Cain should be thrown out. Cali O’Hare reports.

CCSD1 planning to landscape new practice field at RHS

The Carbon County School District One Board of Trustees has moved forward with plans to landscape the open space west of the Rawlins High School. On Tuesday, the board agreed to go out to bid to install irrigation and sod so the school can use the land as a practice field.

City council working to change idling truck ordinance in Rawlins

Rawlins City Council is on track to amend an ordinance to allow commercial trucks meeting certain standards to run unattended. The amendment passed the first of three readings last week. Cali O’Hare has the details.

USFS road closures planned during hazard tree removal projects

Many U.S. Forest Roads are inaccessible during the winter season. This summer and fall, some roads will continue to be closed while hazard tree removal work takes place. Emma Diercks has more.
