Rawlins civil rights lawsuit on track for out-of-court settlement
The civil rights lawsuit between the Estate of John Randall Veach and the City of Rawlins and two of its police officers likely will never reach the courtroom.
Signs are pointing to an out-of-court settlement after a joint motion to suspend all proceedings was filed late last week. Emma Diercks has the exclusive story.
Rawlins City Council will decide on free dump days tonight
Spring cleaning is right around the corner. In Rawlins, residents may catch a break from the city with help getting the job done again this year.
City council historically waived landfill fees for certain materials during a week long period each summer to encourage residents to clear their properties of debris. A final decision will be made during tonight’s meeting. Cali O’Hare reports.

Department of Corrections gives update on facilities issues
About a year ago, the Wyoming Department of Corrections relocated 88 state penitentiary inmates to a facility in Mississippi.
A growing increase in the prison population, ongoing repairs to the facility and a declining number of correctional officers forced the move. The DOC and state lawmakers are still working through these issues today. Emma Diercks reports.
Rawlins fundraiser helps Special Olympics athletes compete
The Carbon County School District One Special Olympics team continues to grow, with 16 athletes headed to the Area Games in Casper later this month. Rawlins residents have an opportunity to help them compete by participating in next weekend’s Jackalope Jump. Cali O’Hare has the story.
