In Saratoga, the Friends of the Library will hold a fundraising meeting on Thursday evening in response to the deep cuts made in the county budget.
In a letter from Addie Meyers, who has a seat on the Carbon County Library Board and is a member of the Saratoga Friends of the Library. The FOL is hoping to open the meeting up to a wider audience in hopes of generating more support for the financial predicament that local libraries find themselves because of the recent funding cuts.
The letter expresses hope in a fundraiser slated for later this month at Brush Creek Ranch. Entitled “Embrace the Valley,” the fundraiser will be an opportunity for generous donors to match donations to enrolled organizations up to $50,000. The fundraiser is scheduled for August 29.
The Saratoga Friends of the Library will meet Thursday evening, August 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the PVCC and also via Zoom for all who want to attend.
