The Wyoming Airports Coalition will meet in Saratoga later this month.

From Wednesday, September 18th to Friday, September 20th pilots, airport operators, industry insiders, and general aviation enthusiasts will gather in Saratoga for the Wyoming Airports Coalition annual conference.

Coalition President Kyle Butterfield said the Wyoming Airports Coalition was formed in the mid-1970’s to lobby for the aviation industry to both state and federal legislators.

Butterfield said his organization also works with Wyoming airport operators to understand and implement government regulations.

Every fall, the Wyoming Airports Coalition holds its annual conference at different member airfields across the state. Butterfield explained that the yearly gathering allows WAC members to meet with industry leaders to discuss the state of aviation.

For the second time in the organization’s history, the Wyoming Airports Coalition will hold its yearly gathering in Saratoga. Butterfield said Saratoga was chosen again after the town’s airport advisory board extended an invitation to host this year’s conference. The coalition president said Saratoga is a great place to hold the annual meeting.

Butterfield said the theme of year’s Wyoming Airports Coalition conference will be “foundations.” The coalition president said a several aviation experts will give presentations during the three-day long event, including Michael Kessel. Butterfield said Kessel has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Wyoming aviation.

On Wednesday morning before the meetings and presentations begin, Wyoming Airports Coalition members will hold a golf tournament at the Old Baldy Club.

The conference is open to everyone, not just airport coalition members. Tickets cost $350 a person for non-WAC members. Registration for Wednesday’s golf tournament has closed.

The 2024 Wyoming Airports Coalition annual conference in Saratoga runs from September 18th to the 20th. Bigfoot99 will provide a link to purchase tickets for the event when this story is posted to our website later today.

Saratoga Mayor Chuck Davis wrote in a welcome letter to the airport coalition that the town is thrilled to welcome the organization and encouraged attendees to “take a moment to appreciate the vibrant spirit of our community.”
