The Wyoming Highway Patrol arrested a California man at an I-80 rest area in Sweetwater County Saturday afternoon February 4, while responding to a call about a possible domestic disturbance.

The initial call to dispatch reported that the incident involved a female driver of a semi-tractor-trailer and a male passenger.

Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers located the truck parked in the eastbound lot of the Bitter Creek Rest Area in Sweetwater County. During the contact, troopers learned that the male had smuggled himself uninvited aboard commercial rig.

The driver told troopers that her ex-boyfriend had boarded the vehicle without her knowledge in California. She alleged that he had physically and sexually abused her in the truck over several days while she was transporting the commercial cargo. She also said he stabbed her in the leg.

The male initially gave a false name, but was identified as Alejandro Delgado, and had an active warrant for his arrest in California.

Mr. Delgado was arrested on a felony parole violation out of Bakersfield and a misdemeanor charge of interfering with a police officer.
