The Rawlins nursing home will host a car show and barbecue fundraiser next week.
Starting at noon on Saturday, September 9th, Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness will hold a car show and barbecue. Activities Director Joseph Madrid said the car show will generate awareness of the nursing home and give residents a fun activity to do on the facility grounds.
Madrid said next Saturday’s car show will last four hours. The activities director said the antique and collector automobiles will be displayed in a cordoned off section of the nursing home’s parking lot.
Madrid said the car show is free for both attendees and exhibitors. The activities director said prizes will be given out during the event. Madrid said winners will be decided by popular vote.
During the car show, Madrid said Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness staff will cook and serve burgers to attendees. Madrid said a burger with chips, a drink, and a side will cost $8. The activities director said HF Sinclair is donating all the food for the event.
Madrid said he is not only the activities director, but also does marketing for Rawlins Rehabilition and Wellness. Madrid said he had the idea to host a car show to provide the nursing home’s residents with an entertaining activity. Madrid said he posted his car show idea on Facebook where it garnered a positive response. The activities director said also serving food during the event was a way to bring in more attendees.
The Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness car show and barbecue is next Saturday, September 9th, at noon at 542 16th Street. Madrid said to register on the Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness Facebook page to display your vehicle for free during the event.
