The Carbon County Higher Education Center is having an open house on Wednesday, September 14th.

Jennifer Moore has been the executive director of the CCHEC since March. She has worked in higher education since 2015. She says she would like people to come down and see the new direction the CCHEC is taking.

Moore has a blueprint for how she would like to see the center grow. Following this plan will make the center a more inviting place to learn. Moore is confident that focusing on key priorities will ensure that students are given the best possible education.

Founded in 1985, the CCHEC provides learning opportunities for students of all ages. Partnering with Carbon County School District One and Western Wyoming Community College allows the CCHEC to offer basic education, college, and vocational classes.

The open house is on Wednesday, September 14th, and runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome to meet the staff, teachers, and students of the CCHEC. Tour the facility and see how the CCHEC ensures the success of their students.

There will also be a silent auction. Using skills learned at the center, students have created several one-of-a-kind items for people to bid on. Tables, a desk, a shed, and a wooden dog kennel are among the items up for bid. Proceeds from the auction will allow the CCHEC to continue offering career and technical education to the community.
