Hammond also said that the ARPA 3 grants for water funds were announced by the state yesterday. After the disappointment of losing out on the last round of ARPA grant funding, Hammond said the city is can score high on the point system the State Loan and Investment Board uses to award the federal American Recovery Plan Act funding.
Hammond said the city’s application would focus on parts of Phase 2 of the water infrastructure improvement, including the spring boxes in the Beaver Springs and Sage Spring areas. The improvements would help collect more water from the two springs area to augment the city’s water supply.
Hammond said she would be back before council at the next meeting to seek approval to apply for the grant.
