County Commissioners are one are one step closer to banning not just wind, but all renewable energy development in the Shirley Basin north of Medicine Bow. The move comes as researchers say the explosive growth of development in the formerly empty, wide open spaces say is causing “indirect habitat loss” to the pronghorn herd.

Last week, the county’s top leaders directed staff to begin drafting a resolution. Cali O’Hare has the latest update in this ongoing story.
