Crews with the Wyoming Department of Transportation are taking advantage of the warm weather to repair roads across our area.
Wyoming Department of Transportation maintenance crews have begun seasonal paving operations in Carbon County. Workers began last week by repaving a stretch of Highway 72, from mile marker 9 to 9.2.
WYDOT maintenance crews also plan to repair sections of Interstate 80 between mileposts 244 and 245, Highway 130 from mile marker 48 to 49, and Highway 230 at mile marker 125. Additionally, sections of Highway 30 by Medicine Bow, Highway 70 between Saratoga and Baggs, Highway 789 by Baggs, and I-80 by Rawlins are scheduled for seasonal maintenance.
In a media release, WYDOT District One Public Information Specialist Andrea Staley wrote that crews may move between those locations based on weather conditions and material and equipment availability.
Staley added that motorists should expect potential delays due to lane closures, reduced speed limits, and other traffic control measures. While traveling in a work zone, drivers must avoid distractions like cell phones and obey all posted signs and flaggers.
Carbon County paving operations are expected to continue through late August. However, all WYDOT project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather and material or equipment availability.
