Your property may never flood, but your insurance payments could be underwater by this time next year when FEMA’s new flood zone designations become law. The 90-day window opened yesterday to appeal the new maps. Since property owners cannot file appeals individually but must go through a government entity, the Board of County Commissioners is setting up a process to deal with requests in its jurisdiction. Emma Diercks reports.
