In Washington, D.C. this week, the media company that reports on American politics reported last week: “Hopes by Democrats of defeating President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees “appear to be fizzling.””

This week, Democrats have turned to stalling to prevent Trump’s cabinet picks from being approved.

Wyoming Senator John Barrasso blasted his Democrats colleagues on the other side of the isle for delaying confirmation votes on several national security nominees.

The Republicans may have to work Saturday and Sunday to overcome resistance from Democrats, who are bulldogging what should be a relatively smooth process, a formality.

“The result”, Senator Barrasso told his colleagues Wednesday, “is that Republicans should prepare for late nights and long hours to steer the process through.”

Ratcliffe is Trump’s choice to lead the Central Intelligence Agency. Barrasso said the “world is too dangerous to delay confirming Mr. Ratcliffe.”

Democrats have also delayed the vote on Kristi Noem to head up Homeland Security despite gaining a 13-2 vote in committee.

“Americans want results, not resistance.” Senator Barrasso concluded in his comments on the floor yesterday.

Meanwhile, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) blocked the Senate confirmation of President Donald Trump’s nominee for CIA director, John Ratcliffe, on Tuesday evening, further infuriating Republicans.
