One highway fatality in Wyoming has been linked to the storm that closed down much of Interstate 80 this week, including the eastbound and westbound lanes in Carbon County.

A 74-year-old Diamondville man, Arnold Olguin, died near Evanston while a rolling closure was in effect for the eastbound lanes there. The highway patrol said the Olguin was driving his pickup west on the interstate when it collided with a truck that had entered the westbound lanes while attempting to turn around in a crossover at a closure gate. After striking the semi, the victim’s pickup spun and struck another tractor-trailer, which was parked in the emergency lane due to the closure, the highway patrol said. The crash occurred about 5:30 in the morning.
