Hot, dry weather over the weekend produced a number of spotty wildfires in the region.
On late Saturday afternoon, a small wildfire burning along Wyoming Highway 130 near Ryan Park forced the closure of Wyoming 130 for a time.
The Ski Hill fire burned about four acres before being contained by ground and aerial resources.
U.S. Forest Service helicopters were deployed as part of an aggressive initial attack. The Snowy Range Road was closed for a time during the initial assault to contain the fire. Ground crews were also deployed.
Wyoming 130 was closed between Green Rock above Centennial to the WYO 230 junction in the Platte Valley.
In Albany County, the Bear Creek Fire caused several evacuation warnings north of Laramie, including a five-mile radius of mile marker 15 on Highway 34 in Sybille Canyon, Albany Country Road 12 to Morton Pass, and Highway 34 west to Morton Pass.
Additionally, there is an emergency evacuation notice due to the presence of potential explosives in the area, requiring an immediate evacuation to a minimum distance of 300 meters from the incident location at 530 Beaufort Street.
Albany County officials put fire restrictions into place and residents were urged to check the Albany County web site for updates.
