Absentee voting for the primary election is now open. Carbon County residents who requested ballots should start receiving theirs in the mail. Others can go to county courthouse to partake in early voting. Emma Diercks has the story.

Ways to vote early by absentee:

– In Person: Come to the Courthouse at 415 West Pine Street in Rawlins and vote in person or take your ballot home with you.

– Mail: Request your ballot be mailed to you by calling 307-328-2650.

Return your ballots to the Courthouse via mail, the drop box at the south side of the Courthouse or inside the Courthouse any time before 7 pm on Election Day – August 18.

No excuse is required to vote by absentee.
