During today’s Carbon County Commissioners meeting, county officials met their newest asset — a former employee of the Rawlins Fire Department and her partner, an accelerant detection K9.

Former RFD Captain Stephanie Schofield and K9 Jennifer were brought on as fire investigators with the Ryan Park Fire Department after Schofield was fired from the City of Rawlins. Rawlins has no legal claim to the dog, and no longer employs anyone certified to act as its handler.

Cali O’Hare has been following the story and filed this report.
