Saratoga councilman: Healthcare decisions impact entire valley
The Saratoga Town Council has decided to host a workshop in the coming weeks with the mayors from Riverside and Encampment to discuss the lease of the Platte Valley Clinic.
The idea was presented by Councilman Steve Wilcoxson who noted that healthcare in the area doesn’t only affect Saratoga residents but also those in the surrounding communities. Emma Diercks with the story.
Sinclair refinery gets hefty fines in violation settlement
As part of a settlement with both federal and state agencies, the Sinclair Wyoming Refining Company will pay more than $1 million in fines for previous violations of the Clean Air Act that occurred at the refinery just east of Rawlins. The announcement came yesterday afternoon. Cali O’Hare reports.

Rawlins residents raise concern over pedestrian tunnel
The Rawlins City Council allocated funds to repair the severely damaged concrete near one of the municipal pedestrian tunnels in the recently approved budget for fiscal year 2019-2020.
Prior to approving the resolution Tuesday, the governing body heard from citizens who believe the tunnel is a safety hazard. Those citizens say it’s going to take much more than concrete repairs to make the tunnel safe again. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare investigated and filed this report.
CCSD2 honors retiring staff
Monday evening Carbon County School District Two honored three retiring staff members that have served the district for many years and made an impact on students.
The retirees are Encampment teacher Cheryl Munroe, Special Education staff director Deb Riker and Carrie Craig. Emma Diercks was there and filed this report.
