Lawmakers consider adding tolls on I-80

New Wyoming National Guard commander sworn in

The Wyoming National Guard has a new commander. Brigadier General Gregory Porter was sworn in during a change of command ceremony Thursday afternoon in Cheyenne. Porter replaces Major General K. Luke Reiner, who retired following the ceremony.
Governor Mark Gordon recently appointed Reiner to head up the Wyoming Department of Transportation. Reiner told the Cheyenne Minuteman, a publication focused on military issues, that the National Guard “will continue to make great strides under General Porter’s leadership.”
During yesterday’s ceremony, Porter received his pins as Major General. He most recently served as the director of the joint staff at the Joint Force Headquarters, in Cheyenne.
Carbon County organization to distribute funds for emergency aid
The Carbon County Child Development Program recently received about $6,000 to distribute to other local organizations under a national emergency food and shelter program. Emma Diercks reports.
