Pilot car blamed in bridge mishap
A bad judgment call by the driver of a pilot car is to blame for the recent oversize load mishap at Exit 215 off Interstate 80 into Rawlins.
Not only did the pilot car driver take the wrong exit, he also provided bad advice to the driver hauling the 10,000 pound oilfield tank. As a result, the vessel struck deck of the bridge overpass.

Saratoga agrees to Little League field use
In Saratoga, the Platte Valley Little League came to Tuesday’s Town Council meeting with two competing documents spelling out terms for using the baseball fields near the library.
One was a burdensome lease drawn up by the town attorney, the other a streamlined memorandum of understanding written by a councilman. After a lengthy discussion, the governing body decided use the less formal agreement. Emma Diercks has the story.
Sinclair Christmas tree lighting tonight
The spirit of the holiday season will be alive and well tonight at the Town of Sinclair’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The chilly temperatures will be offset by a large bonfire and hot chocolate.
