Rawlins hospital committee reviews management agencies

The Memorial Hospital Management Steering Committee met this week to review the responses it received from the Request for Proposal sent to 10 agencies last month. The committee was formed to select a company from around the region best suited to manage the hospital in Rawlins.

At Wednesday’s meeting, the committee zeroed in on three companies that expressed interest. Two competing narratives are at work in the process. One favors staying with Quorum, the facility’s current manager. The other wants to reboot with a different company. Cali O’Hare was at the two-hour meeting and filed this report.

Firefighters preparing for slash pile burning on national forest

Forest Service fire personnel are making preparations for annual slash pile burning on the Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests in Wyoming and Colorado. Burning should begin this month. Emma Diercks reports.
