Even as some states, such as Florida and Texas, take small steps toward reopening under post-coronavirus guidelines, Wyoming will remain closed for at least another two weeks.

In a written statement Friday, Governor Mark Gordon said that public that public health orders in effect since March 19th will remain in effect through April 30th.

Governor Gordon said his administration is developing a plan for a transition in accordance with the three phase start-up outlined by the White House on Thursday. Wyoming’s plan will involve the monitoring of data on the spread of the virus and its impacts on hospitals, according to the governor’s statement. It also will involve ensuring that testing increases and healthcare providers have necessary equipment. Details are expected to be announced later this week.

As of Monday morning, the Wyoming Department of Health reports 313 cases of the novel coronavirus in Wyoming along with 113 probable cases. Carbon County is still reporting four confirmed cases. Two deaths have been attributed to the virus in Wyoming since the beginning of the outbreak.
