Wyoming will continue to operate under public health orders through the end of the month, but Governor Mark Gordon yesterday announced a further easing of the restrictions that have been in place since March 19th.

The governor said he’s plotting a safe and sensible path forward to avoid a resurgence of the virus, which state health department indicators show has stabilized.

Public Health Order #1 will be eased to allow restaurants and bars to offer indoor and outdoor dining. Dining and going out for drinks will not be what it was. Tables will have to be spaced wider apart with limited seating. Staff will be required to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and to wear face coverings.

Also under the new orders, gyms will be allowed to offer personal training and group fitness classes for up to 20 participants. Day care centers will be allowed to operate with up to 25 children. Parental access will be limited.

The governor has allocated $2 million in federal funding for the state to purchase and distribute Personal Protective Equipment non-healthcare related businesses to support public safety under the new orders.

More information about the updated operating conditions under the revised orders will be available online during a Wyoming Business Council webinar Thursday. The video will be available on demand after the live presentation. Governor Gordon eased other restrictions as well.

Along with the easing of the public health orders, the governor allocated $15 million to the Wyoming Department of Health to increase both the agency’s diagnostic testing and contact tracing capabilities. Copies of the updated orders are attached and can be found on the state’s COVID-19 website. The new orders will be in effect for another two weeks with an expiration date of May 31st.
