Fresh from a congressional visit to the southern border last week, Wyoming Representative Harriet Hageman blasted the Biden Administration for its failures in stemming the tides of illegals and the social damage they are causing.

Rep. Hageman, a member of the House judiciary committee, said that articles of impeachment are likely to be filed against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. In an interview with Breittbart News, Rep. Hageman said Mayorkas is violating his oath of office.

Drug cartels are taking advantage of the broken border to smuggle illegal and sometimes fatal drugs, like fentanyl, into the United States. Hageman said officials with the Biden Administration pose as humanitarians while unleashing policies that are “devastating communities and devastating real people.”

The Judiciary Committee held a field hearing on the issue Thursday in Yuma, Arizona. No Democrats on the committee appeared.

Hageman said the committee heard how the unbridled flow of illegals is tearing up fields and destroying crops that are intended for the kitchen of American consumers.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is expected to roll out legislation to address issues related to the border crisis. Jordan opened the Yuma hearing by admonishing the members who were no-shows.

While touring the entry port of San Luis, a dam along the Colorado River between Arizona and Mexico, Border Patrol Agents told the congressional party around 4,000 immigrants cross the U.S. Border near Yuma each day.

Hageman’s comments about impeaching the Homeland Security Secretary come after Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Pat Fallon (R-TX) have already introduced articles of impeachment, and after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has signaled an openness to investigating.
