Liz Cheney’s main primary rival will be in Saratoga Saturday. Harriet Hageman will hold a meet and greet at the Platte Valley Community Center at 3 p.m.
Hageman as Donald Trump’s endorsement in her battle against Cheney, who has gambled her seat in Congress by taking a strong never-Trump position.
It’s an odd bet given that Trump’s margin of victory in Wyoming was the largest of any state in the 2020 election. Trump actually received more than Cheney last November.
Hageman has not always been on the Trump train, and some loyalists are suspicious of her intentions. Hageman has proven to be a strong fundraiser, though. She has been averaging $100,000 a week in donations since announcing her run. Much of the money raised is from Wyoming. Most of Cheney’s money comes from out-of-state corporate donors.
Hageman will be at the Platte Valley Community Center at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Cheney has not scheduled an appearance anywhere in Wyoming so far.
