The third annual Harvest Festival at the Pumpkin Patch takes place tomorrow in Rawlins.

Held each year at the Carbon County Fairgrounds in Rawlins, this seasonal event features trick-or-treating, games, and prizes. Angelina Iacovetto, Secretary of the Board for the Rawlins Chamber of Commerce, explained some of the attractions.

Along with the activities, there will be a costume contest. Cash prizes will be awarded to the scariest, most creative, and cutest costumes at the festival.

New to this year’s Harvest Festival is a Trunk-or-Treat. Iacovetto said that several local businesses have signed up to hand out treats. The most popular display will win prize money.

In the exhibit hall, there will be between 10-15 carnival games depending on how much help Iacovetto receives. The Rawlins in Motion Team Broadway dance group have volunteered to run some of the games.

The chamber secretary said she can always use more volunteers. She said to contact her on social media or come to the fair grounds on the day. The more people who pitch in, the more activities will be available.

Profits from the games will be used to help send Rawlins in Motion Team Broadway to New York City in December. Rebecca Iacovetto is the owner of the Rawlins in Motion dance studio. She said that, on top of getting to perform in the Big Apple, her team will be coached by a legendary dance troupe.

Last week, vandals broke into the goat barn at the fairgrounds, where the pumpkin patch is located. Once in the barn, the culprits smashed around $90 worth of pumpkins. Secretary Iacovetto mentioned some specifics of the crime.

The pumpkin perps also stole the donation box, which had $4 in it.

The Harvest Festival is on October 15th, at the Carbon County Fairgrounds, in Rawlins. Games run from 11am-3pm, with trick-or-treating from 1 p.m to 3 p.m.
