The city of Rawlins is offering several opportunities for trick or treaters to safely collect candy.
Rawlins Police Chief Mike Ward said the city offers many interesting activities for residents. Chief Ward said Halloween is no different.
Audio PlayerFor Halloween, the Rawlins Downtown Development Authority Main Street is bringing the businesses in the city center together to pass out candy. Chief Ward said the city ensures that children can safely trick-or-treat downtown.
Audio PlayerChief Ward said the Rawlins PD also gets in on the Halloween action. The police chief said various city agencies gather in the police station parking lot to pass out candy.

Audio PlayerChief Ward said the police department won’t be the only city agency handing out candy on Halloween. The police chief said trick-or-treaters may receive candy from various emergency and construction vehicles.
Audio PlayerStudents from the Rawlins Middle School will also distribute candy with the police officers.
The Rawlins Family Recreation Center is also hosting a Halloween event. Recreation Supervisor Nikki Howell said the rec center offers an indoor alternative for trick-or-treating.
Audio PlayerHowell said the rec center typically offers a haunted house for older kids, but renovations to the indoor gun range are causing staff to reconsider how that will work. The recreation supervisor said people of all ages will find fun activities during Halloween at the rec center.
Audio PlayerPolice Chief Ward said the city is working to ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters. Chief Ward asked people to be especially careful while traveling through the city on Halloween night.
Audio PlayerThe Rawlins Downtown Trick-or-Treat runs from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on October 31st. The Rawlins Family Recreation Center’s indoor Trick-or-Treat activity is from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The rec center is requesting donations of non-perishable food items for St. Vincent De Paul.
