Joe Biden announced he’s dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race in the face of overwhelming pressure from other high-level Democrats.
In a statement Sunday, Biden said it was in the “best interest” of the Democrat Party for him to leave the race and “focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
The President cancelled appearances last week and returned to the White House while suffering from the Coronavirus. The President has received multiple COVID shots since 2020.
In a letter Sunday stating his intentions not to run, the President wrote, “While it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
Biden went onto endorse Vice President Kamala Harris.
Former President Donald Trump said in a statement, “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve—And never was!”
Governor Mark Gordon released a statement Sunday evening about Biden’s decision. Joe Biden’s decision to step aside is a good one. However, we need to remember the Democrats are still in control and this administration has months to run. I am more certain than ever we must change executive leadership in DC.
I am confident Americans will make the right choice in November to vote out the failed policies of the Biden Administration by voting for President Trump and JD Vance. In the meantime, the people of Wyoming can remain confident I will spare no effort or expense in defending our interests.”
Wyoming Senator John Barrasso said the Democrats have “admitted their failures of the last four years.” Congresswoman Harriet Hageman said Biden has “no business running a popsicle stand.”
