The Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District hasn’t composted animal waste since this fall. Composting came about as a potential solution to the state-ordered closure of the dead animal pit.

The board recently requested a load of waste to see how their pilot program works in the winter months. Emma Diercks has more.
