Bigfoot99 has obtained more information about a story we reported on earlier this week.
During the July 15th Board of Carbon County Commissioners meeting, Emergency Manager Lenny Layman said the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security has chosen to stop funding subscription services through its State Homeland Security Grant Program.
At the time, Layman said he didn’t know why the state was ending subscription payments. The county emergency manager said he was simply told by more than one person about the change in homeland security funding.
Bigfoot99 reached out to the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security for an explanation of the policy change.
In a written statement to Bigfoot99, Wyoming Office of Homeland Security Grants and Finance Section Chief Ashley Paulsrud wrote, “There has been no policy change regarding the funding of subscriptions. Should a policy change occur, we will notify the appropriate parties in advance.”
So the funding Layman was worried about losing should remain intact unless the office in Cheyenne announces a change.
