Historic trains will journey though Carbon County

The Union Pacific Railroad celebrates the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad this Spring, and part of the celebration will see two historic steam locomotives come through Carbon County. Stops are planned in Medicine Bow, Hanna and Rawlins. Cali O’Hare has the details.

Fate of Elk Mountain and Medicine Bow schools decided Monday

The Carbon County School District Two Board of Trustees will convene Monday afternoon. On the agenda, members will reschedule a special board meeting to decide the fate of the elementary schools in Elk Mountain and Medicine Bow. Emma Diercks reports.

Rawlins City Council to address downtown parking

The Rawlins City Council is expected to approve some changes to the parking layout in the downtown area during tomorrow night’s meeting. The changes include new striping and fewer parking spaces to improve traffic flow. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

Bunkhouse in the works for USFS office in Saratoga

In Saratoga, the U.S. Forest Service Brush Creek Hayden Ranger District is preparing to build a bunk house on its property south of town. The tentative contracting timeline has construction starting this June. Emma Diercks reports.
