New safety measures coming to Washington Street underpass in Rawlins

The Rawlins Public Works Department plans to install a ‘yield’ sign at one end of the narrow underpass that connects the south side with the rest of the city.

The Urban Systems Committee made the decision as part of a compromise following a request by a city councilman. The rest of the council needs to sign off on the plan. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

WGFD gives update on mule deer initiative

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department continues to focus on mule deer throughout the state. In addition to a presentation on migration corridors at last week’s meeting in Saratoga, local wildlife personnel provided an update on the agency’s 12-year-old mule deer initiative.

 

 

County organizations benefit from service group fundraiser

Several service sororities and fraternities recently came together in Rawlins for an annual awareness and fundraising dinner. February’s Hands of Friendship Dinner raised more than $700. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare reports that every penny will remain at work in Carbon County.

 

 

CCSD1 seeking bids on security cameras

Carbon County School District One is going out to bid for security cameras. The district is following a plan that was presented to the district in January. Emma Diercks reports.

 

 

Sports: Huge weekend for county cagers and Rawlins track star

It was a wild weekend of post-season play for the basketball teams of Carbon County, as some brought home hardware and others fell short. One of main highlights came off of the hardwood and on the track. Joey Saverine recaps the action.
