In Washington, D.C., Pentagon officials confirmed late Friday that up to 1,700 National Guard troops will mobilize across 19 states, including Wyoming, from August through mid-November.

Guard soldiers will support the Department of Homeland Security’s “America First” mission, a sweeping crackdown to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens.

National Guardsmen will soon be deployed to States across the American south, including New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. They will be involved with data collection and management, transportation, logistics, and clerical work.

The deployments were authorized under Title 32 Section 502F, allowing support to federal agencies while remaining under the control of governors, avoiding Posse Comitatus restrictions.

According to the report, fewer than 2% of the authorized forces have mobilized so far. States like Virginia will begin training in late August for the September deployment.
