State Senator Tara Nethercott of Cheyenne announced Tuesday that she will run for Secretary of State. Nethercott has served for five years in the legislature where she chairs the judiciary committee.
Nethercott is seeking to replace Ed Buchannan, who announced earlier this month that he will not seek a second term.
Nethercott is the third lawmaker to announce a bid for the office. Senate President Dan Dockstader of Afton and Representative Chuck Grey announced their intentions to run for secretary of state last week. All three are Republicans.
