In Rawlins, city leaders are considering leasing a few acres of property at the municipal landfill to a private corporation proposing to install a state-of-the-art plant that would process solid waste in a way that reduces landfill costs, decreases the city’s carbon footprint, increases recycling and recaptures methane emissions. The governing body met during a work session earlier this week to discuss the concept. Cali O’Hare was there and filed this report.
