Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed one of the Stinker convenience stores in Rawlins on Monday night.

At approximately 8:25 p.m. Monday evening, Rawlins Police received a call about an armed robbery at 302 Airport Road in Rawlins. Police Chief Mike Ward explained that an unidentified man entered the Stinker’s store, brandished a firearm to steal money, and fled the scene.

Chief Ward said local surveillance shows that the suspect got into his vehicle and escaped the area via Interstate 80. Given that the suspect entered Rawlins from I-80 and returned to the interstate after the robbery, the police chief said the individual is unlikely to be a resident of the city.

Chief Ward said security camera footage from inside the Stinker store shows the suspect as a black male wearing dark shoes and light-colored pants. The individual was also wearing a gray hoodie with a logo of some kind and a partial face covering. It is unclear what type of firearm the suspect used to commit the robbery.

Chief Ward also mentioned that surveillance footage from the Stinker store is not clear enough to identify the type of vehicle the suspect was driving.

It is also unclear if anyone else was in the vehicle.

Chief Ward is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in Monday night’s armed robbery. If you have any information, please call the Rawlins Police Department at 328-4530.
